2010 "Pink Ribbon Turtles" ProjectTurtles of Hope: "Pink Ribbon Turtles"

The “Pink Ribbon Turtles” Drawing is in its fifth year.  The drawing was begun in 2005 in memory of my mother, Nina Isabelle Etheredge Fritz, and in honor and memory of all of those who have been affected by Breast Cancer.

This year there was one drawing; other donated pieces were placed on auction at ebay/MissionFish.  100% of the selling price will be sent to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research.

Below you will see this year’s offering for the drawing entitled “Friends”.  The drawing took place on Monday, November 30th and the results are below.

If you are an artist interested in helping with the 2010 “Pink Ribbon Turtles” Project, please contact me at prt4bcr@mindspring.com or click here for more information about the 2010 PRT Project.

"Pink Ribbon Turtles"
2009 Drawing

The 2009 drawing, entitled “Friends” in honor of the friends that help us through our tough times, is professionally framed in a shadowbox frame and is about 10”x12” in size.  All of the beadwork is sewn by hand by creator/artist Jena M. Tuntas.

The drawing was held on Monday, November 30, 2009 and the turtles will make their new home with Ms. R. Ericson in Cocoa Beach, Florida!  Only the second time the turtles have stayed in their hometown!

The total 2009 donation to the American Cancer Society, including the drawing ticket donations, auctions, and simple monetary donations, was approximately $650.00. (as of this date, 11/30/09, the final tally is not in yet.)  We asked that the money be earmarked for Breast Cancer Research.

Thank you to all who participated either as an artist or a drawing, donation or auction participant.  Please consider joining us again next year!
