Momma and Her Babies The background is crazy-quilted, the
turtles are made of felt and beaded,
and the seaweed and other critters are
all embroidered. My first full size Bead Embroidery
piece, "Momma and Her Babies" is
16"x20" and hangs in my bathroom
in a white shadowbox frame.Turtle Beach Babies This is my second Bead Embroidery. As you
can see I really like sea turtles. "Turtle Beach
Babies" is also 16"x20", and depicts the baby
sea turtles making their way to the sea. Once again I made the background using
a crazy-quilt design that resembled the beach,
ocean and sky. This time I completely beaded
the backs of the little turtles."Sunshine in the Rushes" I wanted to make an orange turtle.
Thus "Sunshine in the Rushes" was born.
I love the bright colors of the turtle's
back, and his yellow body simply makes
him even more beautiful. I searched my stash of fabric and found
this beautiful piece that was just perfect to
enhance the bold colors of the turtle and the
seaweed. The piece hangs in my foyer in
an 11"x18" shadow"Pink Ribbon Turtles" In October of 2005 I began what I
call the "Pink Ribbon Turtle" Drawing in
memory of my mother, who passed away
with Breast Cancer. The framed pink
beaded turtle was given in a drawing. All of the proceeds went to the American
Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research.

information about the current year's drawing
